my fear
"My Fear" was conceived as the meeting between the childish fear of the house filled with ghosts stories, and the adult fear of being alone - this "memories chewing machine", in which the countryside house of a childhood spent with the grandparents is compressed between the buildings of a grown man's life.
The film's production design is the reflex of this confused relation between moments of life, of this wish for a dream of youth, for the return to this now empty place. A place with aged colors and memories leaning on the walls, stowed away in cardboard boxes. The passage of time is shown by piles of newspaper kept under the window, now used to spy the world outside. A world to which one is afraid to come back.
