caixapreta

Exercise on creating the visual identity for a ficticious library, the "caixapreta" ("blackbox", in english, a reference to 'blackbox theatres' and devices used to register and store information), a misterious block that would stand over Roosevelt Square, in the central area of São Paulo, Brazil.

The library would focus on different artistic manifestations, with a space for exhibitions - a blackbox thetre - and a bar, working only at night, following the the region potential and its bohemian characteristic.

The identity, as the building, had to be simple, strong, elegant and enigmatic, revealing itself, and its content, only by subtle apertures. The rigidity of its form is broken by what it reveals: classical authors images, fragments of artwork, film scenes,..

With Susana Narimatsu and Marta Midori.
